(I apologize if I am missing names.. I forgot to get a list..:)
My group was planning to do some blue trails.
We headed out for Middle road and as usual I tried to go down Swamp..
and easy but tight little trail at before Wahoo. Not long in ..
Randy got stuck.
Seems a tree had decided to put itself between his passenger rear
wheel and the body. Out came the trusty hand saw.. and 10 mins later
the tree was a stump.
Randy backed out and we headed down Wahoo. Nice run down Wahoo.. no
issues and then we went to Corum Rocks (with the intent that some of
us could go up the rocks and some hop off to Cobra. We started to
go.. and Randy had to be jump started.. Seems those dual Optims have
a drain somewhere.
We start up Corum and there is a HUGE tree down across the beginning
of the trail.. The bypass takes you over to right where the Cobra cut
off begins. I start up and stall..
Then cant get started dead batteries. Quick fix when I found my
alternator power bolt was loose. Fixed that and no more issues.
Randy, I and Ed M in a nicely set up TJ rand up the rocks. No issues
and we met the Cobra takers at the top.
Next we ran down to do the U turns. Down hard and up Easy. Again
no issue.. and Really great weather by this time.
Now we had to decided where to go next. I had not been on 6A in
years so we headed in that direction.
We Ran Horse Shoe.. and Yes Scott Remembered where to turn to stay
Out of Death Valley.
While on this trail I saw a sign for Boulder but did not know that
6A now had a name.
We stopped for lunch back on the road and Randy decided to head home
to avoid any more tight trails and battery issues.
I did a quick Recon to see where 6A was and we gathered our stuff and
went onto the trail. The Big boulder was done by some, bypassed by others.
This trail winds up the mountain and runs across Hard Rock Crawlers,
Horse Shoe, and Death Valley. So of all the possible ways.. I ended
up at an intersection which said Death valley or Hard Rock. I chose
Hard Rock...
I decided to follow it and at any turn try to head downhill. This
worked.. mostly and we got to a REALLY TIGHT set of trees.. I shoved
the CJ thru. and Brian S. showed us how well he can wheel that
Scout.. he danced it thru. After that it was rocks and hills and we
then popped out on the Hard Rock Crawler trail entrance.. at the ATV
parking area on Middle road.
At that point we decided we had had enough fun and went back to camp.
Brian & his crew and I grabbed some forearms and wet to the No Longer
Redneck Ricke range. It sis now cleaned up, leveled, with a range
master and soon to have covered shooting benches.
Great fun, Dinner was good..
Thanks to all who followed me.. mapless and sometimes clueless into the woods.
